TV Turnoff Week
This is not on my list, but I guess it categorizes under "spend more quality & play time with Paris." This week, from April 20-26, is TV Turnoff Week (more info here). I probably wouldn't be aware of this if it weren't for a newsletter from school. But I am helping Paris participate...and so far, so good. well, there were 2 incidents at family night yesterday where I accidently turned on the TV and realized a minute later to turn it off. And when Paris was hanging out with Mama, she was watching an "Animaniacs" VHS tape on the TV. I can't blame my Mom 'cause she didn't know about it, but Paris said she forgot. =P Other than that, this is what we've done so far...
Monday, we played Operation Spongebob, read books, and with me exploring my photo skills - I played around and did some test shots on her. hehe. Tuesday, we went to the library for a good amount of time. She is definitely getting better at reading books and comprehending what the story is about. We also did some math problems! She is adding, subtracting, and counting by 2s, 5s, and 10s! =) Then, Wednesday was family night. After dinner, we went to Target with Papa, She, & Taylor, and got a couple of board games -- Guess Who Extra and the new Catch Phrase -- and got to play them both. I have to say, I'd rather play the older versions. hehe.
When I was driving home lastnight, Paris asked, "Can I ask Mrs. Elliott (her teacher) if I can stop TV Turnoff Week now?" ha! I told her that we only have 4 more days left and that she can do it! so, I'm thinking for today, I'll see how she feels about going to Mt. Trashmore after dinner since it should be nice out. She can ride her bike while I jog, and we can play at the different playgrounds. If not, I might have to ask her help with spring cleaning so we can get a head start before Chris comes home from Seattle tomorrow.
either way, I'm just glad her eyes aren't glued to the TV this week. I hope it will make an impact in the long run, but I won't be surprised if she's watching Spongebob, iCarly, and all her other shows again on Monday! =)

This is great! Keep it up. Just thought I'd share one of my favorite websites: http://www.superteacherworksheets.com/
Hope you like it. Enjoy and HI PARIS!
That is such a great idea! No TV for a week. Ok, so now that I got Hero's out of the way I think I can manage w/o TV for a week ;o) I'll let you know how that goes LOL
