mini vacay

so, I accomplished 2 of my 101s during Spring Break! =D and I have to give a shout out to my fiance & Joy for making it happen!

28. Go to an Ellen DeGeneres show. I was so jealous when I found out Joy got tickets to the Ellen show. I had no idea Chris was being sneaky about it, asking her to take me, as a Valentine's Day present. She had already invited 3 friends to go, and long story short, one of those friends couldn't go anymore, so she asked me to go. I was so excited that I started tearing up! haha. I never imagined that I would actually go to an Ellen show, and so soon!!! and it was perfect timing because the trip was during my Spring Break, so I didn't have to worry about taking days off...

I had SO much fun with Joy, Rowena, & Kats. the day of the show, all we could say was "EEEEEEEK!!!" lol. just being there was surreal! when we were in the waiting area before the show, they were picking random groups to be taken outside. I guess they picked too many people so they randomly picked one or two people from the groups - Kats was picked out of the 4 of us. Supposedly, it was for a focus group, but apparently it was also the batch of people they'd pick from for the game on the show that day. first of all, the show was awesome! not only did we see Courtney Cox, Tenley from the Bachelor, & Ellen DeGeneres herself, but we got tickets from Anne Hathaway to watch a screening of "Alice in Wonderland" since it hadn't came out yet! but what was most exciting about the show was that Kats got picked to be apart of the game, Know or Go! and in the end, she won a trip to St. Lucia! how exciting!!! the show was a blast, from screaming our heads off to dancing...it was definitely a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! here are a couple of pix from the day of the show. click here to see the video of Kats during Know or Go!

65. Go to California for the first time. So, of course, I accomplished this 101 because the Ellen DeGeneres show takes place in Burbank, CA. I still want to see San Diego, San Francisco, and other parts of California, but the Los Angeles area was just as great. We were only there for 3 days, so we tried to take in a little bit of everything, from touristy stuff to shopping (window shopping for me) & dining. The first day, we checked into the W and walked around Hollywood Blvd. I got to see the Walk of Fame and the Hollywood sign like I wanted to. Kats was coming in later that night so we picked her up and then, ate dinner altogether at Katana. The next day, we ate brunch at CommeCa, and walked/drove around Beverly Hills. That night, we went to STK, where we happened to see some of celebrities & professional dancers for the upcoming Dancing with the Stars show. We seemed like groupies, but we did eat there! there were so many funny moments, but we will never forget the time when we were trying to get a picture with the HOT Nicole Sherzinger... "um...she's not my friend" click HERE to check it out! =P our last day consisted of yummy food, the Ellen show, and getting on a red eye back to DC. the trip was short & sweet, but I definitely had a great first time in California. and I have to say that I absolutely LOVE the weather there and told Chris I can totally see us living there in the future! ;)
